03/05/2023 – Month 4 and 5 of our food hamper project supporting our clients, funded by Birmingham City Council. This month we were back to normal shopping, counting and purchasing items at Aldi and packing them for each family at Qadria Trust. We had just 5 of us today helping out whilst we had double the amount of food this time around (covering two months) so this was a very tiring and hard day for the team. We had collections and deliveries for families, who all expressed their gratitude and need for this extra support. Included in the food hampers was fresh chicken and meat for families as we know the prices of this have also increased. Food hampers were also given to two other professionals we’ve worked with to provide other families in need out of our reach such as Maypole and Ward End.
