18/06/2024 – We have a vacancy for a full time Family Engagement and Outreach Worker to work as part of a team to provide frontline culturally sensitive, emotional and practical support to Himaya Haven service users. Himaya Haven’s services users are families and individuals with a loved one in custody and prison.
This post is based in Birmingham providing outreach to families with information and support to alleviate the challenges they face and remove some of their isolation. You will be providing culturally sensitive support for families from minority communities who are disproportionality impacted by imprisonment. in addition to providing support to prisoners within the framework of Himaya Haven’s aims, missions and objectives (see website for further details). You will need to be able to confidently communicate and liaise with key stake holders such as prisons, police and other statutory and non-statutory organisations.
